Exclusive Gated Development, Surrey
Role: Security personnel
Location: Surrey
Property: Private residential development of freehold houses
Employer: Cledor
Managing agent: Nationwide, multi office
When Cledor’s Nick Regnier originally saw this stunning development of 200 freehold houses, right away he knew that the residents deserved the highest quality of on-site staff. Morale amongst the security staff was low. They were paid minimum wage, working long hours and were all self-employed so no paid holiday. The staff weren’t uniformed and there were no standard operating procedures. They remained loyal despite the difficult conditions.
Cledor spoke to the residents and RMC, and agreed with the managing agent that wholesale changes were needed. They agreed and this is what we have put into place:
Cledor has TUPE’d the staff from the outgoing provider and all personnel are on permanent contracts.
There is now be 24/7 coverage due to shift changes – and that makes the residents feel more secure.
All staff received a healthy rise in their wages.
And 28 days of annual leave per year including bank holidays.
Overtime is now permitted, as regular hours are reasonable.
Cledor’s Academy training is being rolled out. This was sorely needed.
All staff will have Cledor uniforms fit for an exclusive development.
A bespoke operations procedural manual is in production.
Contractors are now closely managed/supervised. Their time on site is recorded and details passed to the managing agent.
Daily Activity Reporting for the managing agent.
Matrix of all vehicles on the estate to keep out unwanted visitors.
Security improved with each courier stopped and checked.
