Cledor was tasked with assisting the Head Concierge in appointing a night Concierge for this stunning and unique 14 storey Art Deco residential building on the south coast. Designed by talented architects Kenneth Dalgleish and Roger K Pullen, the building bears a striking resemblance to the Cunard White-Star Line Queen Mary, which started its transatlantic journeys in the mid 1930s. The unusual, purpose-built block of flats was constructed between 1936 and 1938, and at the time of its completion, was the tallest block of flats in the UK. It suffered damage to its eastern end during WWII, with restoration taking place in 1949/50. It had to wait until 1999 to receive deserved Grade-II listed status.
In the search for the ideal concierge, Cledor advertised locally and carried out several interviews on Zoom. Within a week, we had sourced, interviewed and vetted an experienced concierge who lived close by. Perfect. The block management company proudly managing the building is delighted. Now we conduct e-learning training for the on-site staff there, ensuring their development does not halt while face to face training is put on hold.
Cledor also helps the managing agent to adhere to its fire safety obligations. One such way is to check the operation of all common parts fire doors. Given the building contains 150 apartments, this is no mean feat!
